Have you ever felt like you have nothing to wear because none of it
fits just right, or feels good when it's on? Or you shop and you shop,
but can never find anything you really like, so you end up wearing
the same outfit every day for three months until you are sick of it?
Why should it be so tough?
That's how the idea for Triple Flip began. There simply were not enough choices or great places for girls to shop. There needed to be a place to find clothes that actually fit. Clothes that came in fun colors and looked fabulous. Clothes that were so incredibly comfortable that you could dance in them, run in them, sleep in them, or flip in them.
Linda Maslechko and Mona Rae Peterson, along with their daughters and friends, are the original Flip Girls. Based on their own active lives, and the clothes they knew couldn’t be found anywhere else, they came up with the designs for a clothing line that they thought girls wanted and needed most. And then they took those ideas to the girls.
Focus groups of 80 more girls were brought together to be asked
what they thought. And to no one’s surprise, these girls knew just
what they wanted — how it should fit, what colors would make them happy, and what styles they loved best. With their feedback and inspiration, Triple Flip was born.
The flagship Calgary store opened in October 2005 at Deerfoot Meadows, and quickly became one of the most talked about stores in the city. In 2007, Triple Flip was recognized for its Outstanding Achievement in a New Retail Concept at the national ARC Awards.Triple Flip expanded to Midtown Plaza in Saskatoon in March 2008, and in November 2008, due to crazy popular demand, Triple Flip opened its doors to Edmonton girls, with a South Edmonton Common location. We’re on the move to bring Flipwear to girls all over Canada, through additional locations, and our award-winning website.
We continue to ask for feedback from our customers every day. We have received hundreds of suggestions and ideas for flipwear that we use to inspire new products for each season.
